Background
About Saivarshinee Sadasivam
Saivarshinee is currently pursuing her Master's in Sustainable Resource Management at the Technical University of Munich, focusing her studies on economics, climate change, and sustainability. She’s especially passionate about shaping effective climate policies and governance frameworks. Alongside her studies, Saivarshinee is part of the renewable energy service team at Sungrow Deutschland GmbH. In her role as a working student, she manages service partner relationships across the EMEA region, coordinates NDA and contract processes, helps guide strategic decisions, designs pricing structures for utility-scale solar and EV services, and oversees the onboarding of new service partners. Previously, she was a student research assistant with TUM's GreenDIA project, where she deepened her understanding of sustainable land-use management, climate regulation, and green finance. Her experience also includes working with ClimACT, a climate action initiative in Chennai, India. There, she identified critical gaps in local climate policies, co-authored a policy brief offering targeted recommendations for decarbonising buildings and implementing nature-based solutions for coastal erosion, and led community engagement aligned with Chennai’s Climate Action Plan. Her key areas of interest include: • Climate Change-oriented ocean governance with a focus on developing countries. • Nature-based solutions and mitigation strategies. • Justice transitions and inclusive growth • Environmental economics and effective policymaking Ultimately, Saivarshinee aims to create fair climate policies supporting communities.
