About Saja Khader

An experienced public health coordinator and analyst at CDC's National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHSSTP) within the Division of HIV Prevention (DHP). As the Advanced Molecular Detection Project Coordinator, I work towards improving health outcomes, preventing new HIV infections, and promoting health equity by aiding in the coordination of national efforts to identify HIV clusters and outbreaks and supporting timely and tailored responses. Previously, I worked as program manager at the CDC-funded Prevention Research Center at Georgia State University focused on addressing the health and well-being of a Refugee, Immigrant, and Migrant (RIM) community located in Clarkston, Georgia. My experience includes project and grant management, research support, and administration. Prior to that, I worked as a data analyst contacted with CDC’s Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention within the HIV Research Branch. In my role as a data analyst, I coordinated a qualitative study evaluating the CDC-funded THRIVE project. During my time as a Graduate Research Assistant, I worked on various research projects including an NIH-funded randomized controlled trial (RCT) evaluating a sexual violence prevention intervention, and a qualitative study funded by Georgia State University’s Center for Research on Interpersonal Violence (CRIV) aimed at exploring the environmental and social contexts in which queer-identifying individuals experience sexual violence via semi-structured interviewing. I am well equipped with skills in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method research, as well as training in statistical software such as NVivo, SAS, SPSS, R, and STATA. I have experience in both project coordination and data management. I am detail-oriented, well organized, and a clear communicator. My primary areas of interest included harm reduction, health equity, minority health, refugee health, HIV/AIDS, mental health, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
