Sal Muthayan has 20 years of experience in local and international capacity development programs, focussing on education, leadership and management. Sal has a keen interest in participatory and decolonizing methodologies, community participation and social justice approaches to capacity development and includes local indigenous approaches and content in the programs she designs. In the area of International Relations she initiated South –South cooperation programmes between India, Brazil and South Africa and a civil service capacity development project with post conflict countries of Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan. The project was recognized as an innovative model of South-South and Triangular Cooperation for development effectiveness. Sal has conducted large scale institutional and program evaluations. Sal is also an executive coach and holds a PhD from the University of British Columbia, Canada
