About Salam Khalil

I am someone who is passionate about teaching and education, connects easily with students, and worked at a close range with other Mathematics teachers as a trainer and head of the department. I believe that my experience and passion for teaching enable me to help students develop essential attitudes that benefit them to understand Mathematics in a better way and to view Mathematics as a dynamic opportunity.I hold a teaching permit from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the Lebanese Republic, since 2006.I am a full-time math teacher for well over 16 years.I was the head (coordinator) of the Math Department at Ahliah School, Lebanon, for 7 years, where I also taught Math to students enrolled in both the Lebanese Program and the College Freshman Year Preparatory Program for 12 years.I worked as a Math teacher at Saint Georges College in Lebanon for four years.The World Education Services (WES)"Credential Evaluation and Authentication Report" was given to me in 2022.During my tenure as a teacher and then head of department/teacher:I edited, modified, and adapted the standards, objectives, and skills required for teaching K-12 mathematics, for the Lebanese Program and the College Freshman Year Preparatory Program (CFYP).I trained Ahliah's new teachers and student-teachers (interns) coming from different universities in Lebanon. I had the privilege to work with students with special needs by creating Individualized Educational Plans - IEP, and designing learning activities, as well as adapting and improving the curriculum, along with year-long assessments. In this regard, I successfully completed a 26-hour module (Special Education: An Introduction) at Haigazian University's "In-Service Teacher Training Program," in July-August 2017. I prepared and coached gold and silver medals Ahliah’s students during multiple editions of the Annual Science and Math and Technology Fair organized by the prestigious American University of Beirut.I have worked on integrating technology into the curriculum of Mathematics and trained students on using different software such as GeoGebra and Mathematica. In addition to giving a workshop of 12 sessions for students on developing their online communication skills and creating their own e-portfolios with the help of google sites.I took part in workshops about teaching and learning. More specifically, in 2017, I was the facilitator of an ad hoc Committee on the development of "a procedure for school administrators to accommodate and acculturate [AUB's] interns in the different school contexts.
