About Salina Handa

How hard can it be to run a spa? That may be what you thought at the beginning… But now? Probably not so much. Today’s spa client is perhaps the most demanding one you’ll come across, and for good reason. They have a wealth of options to choose from, and the prerogative to jump around as budgets, bodies and lifestyles change. Oh, and throw in a global pandemic where suddenly human touch = fear, and suddenly that ‘simple business’ idea is keeping you up at night. Step forward THE SPA PEOPLE. Your panel of slick, results-focused, proven spa experts, who can hone in on the quick fixes (or huge overhauls!) needed to turn your wellness business around. I launched SENSASIA SPAS in 2004 and have lovingly crafted the brand’s expansion ever since, most recently by funneling 17 years of success, strategy and struggles in the wellness industry into our consultancy arm, THE SPA PEOPLE. Prompted by the spa sector’s acute need for reinvention, resurrection and client reassurance as a result of 2020 and its global pandemic, I lead THE SPA PEOPLE to work with businesses which are unsure how to launch, recover or maintain their market niche. As a long-term spa owner, I know first-hand how much a few clever tweaks to the company structure and/or customer journey can absolutely revolutionise the experience and perception of your brand.
