About Sally Nassar

Dr. Sally Maher Nassar is an associate professor of digital media at the College of Language and Communication, Smart Village Campus. She currently serves as Associate Dean for Training and Community Service and Head of Academic Departments at the Arab Academy International Study Center across both the Smart Village and Alexandria branches. With a scholarly trajectory rooted in media studies and digital transformation, Dr. Nassar has cultivated a rich academic portfolio since beginning her career as an assistant lecturer in September 2014. By 2017, she had been promoted to associate professor, reflecting both her research rigor and pedagogical excellence. She previously led the Media Department at the Smart Village Campus, where she played a key role in shaping interdisciplinary curricula and overseeing innovative student-led projects. Dr. Nassar’s research and academic interests lie at the intersection of digital media, civic engagement, and communication technologies. She has supervised numerous graduation projects and contributed to inclusive education through her work with the Special Needs Unit. Her expertise also extends to the practical field of media governance and electoral communication; she served as a member of the media monitoring committees during major national elections, including the Senate Elections (2025), Egyptian Presidential Elections (2023), Parliament Elections (2020), and Senate Elections (2020). In addition to moderating public webinars and knowledge exchange initiatives, Dr. Nassar was formally recognized by the president of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT) for her contribution to the Sustainable Development team’s success in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. Her current academic role integrates teaching, leadership, and applied research, positioning her as a key contributor to the advancement of digital media scholarship in the Arab region.
