Background
About Salwan Alwan
I’m a Senior Computer Vision Engineer with a Ph.D. in Computer Vision, passionate about turning cutting-edge research into real-world impact. My work spans autonomous robotics, precision agriculture, and computer vision solutions that perform reliably in complex, dynamic environments. At CYCLAIR, I lead the computer vision roadmap for an autonomous weeding robot — developing models with centimeter-level accuracy and real-time inference. I design scalable data pipelines and mentor PhD candidates and interns, pushing the boundaries of innovation in agricultural robotics. I thrive at the intersection of deep learning, software engineering, and applied research. With hands-on expertise in Python, PyTorch, TensorRT, MLflow, and Airflow, I aim to create robust, interpretable, and production-ready AI systems that make technology more sustainable and accessible.
