About Sam Ackley

I'm currently the COO of a Pacific NW based Telecommunications Company, CLEC and ISP. We specialize in all aspects of fiber optic construction and service, and own the largest privately-held fiber optic network in the State of Oregon. Our long-term vision is to create an infrastructure which will stimulate local and statewide economic growth by removing previously existing technological barriers. So far, our efforts have resulted in unprecedented new communications and connectivity resources for a number of previously disregarded rural communities. I have more than ten years of experience working in contract management and corporate law, and in that time have successfully written, negotiated and managed hundreds of contracts in the public and private sectors, including, but not limited to: service and construction contracts, municipal franchise and public right of way agreements, utility and joint use agreements, easement agreements, etc. I have been involved in a number of different organizations throughout my tenure with Hunter, including the Rural Health Care Pilot Program, the Southern Oregon Education Services District Industry Alignment Strategy Task Force, the Chamber of Medford/Jackson County and the National Contract Management Association. I currently serve as the CLEC representative and a member of the Executive Committee on the Oregon Joint Use Association's Board of Directors Chair of the Technology Committee for the Northwest Telecommunications Association (http://nwta.biz/), and serve on the Board of Directors for the Britt Music & Arts Festival
