About Sam Bellipanni

When I picked up my first skateboard over 15 years ago, I never imagined how much it would influence my life, much less my career. Now I work for the world-famous Skatepark of Tampa and hold crucial roles in many different branches of the company, most notably event coordination. Here's three quick things about me and my work: Let’s get this out of the way, my first name is actually Uncle Sam. I was the first child out of my family to be born in America so my Filipino mother named me after the national personification of the U.S. federal government. Most people call me Sam, except for my nieces. I am digital-savvy and a proficient self-learner. We have an unbelievable amount of resources at our fingertips, my favorite being Youtube. I take pride in how quickly I can pick up a new skill or program, but I am most competent in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, SketchUp and basic HTML/CSS coding. With my skill set I create captivating marketing assets such as web banners, printed flyers, social media posts and teaser videos to promote our upcoming skateboarding events. Skatepark of Tampa has hosted Tampa Am and Tampa Pro annually for over 25 years. These are 2 of the most paramount contests in skateboarding where the greatest skaters from around the world gather under one roof and compete for the top spot. For these events I collaborate with the CEO and Operations Manager to create sponsorship proposals and finalize event logistics. I also oversee the entire contest registration process, work with the judging panel to ensure accurate scoring and communicate with professional skateboarders and industry VIPs from brands such as Vans, Nike, Adidas and Converse to ensure proper accommodations during our events.
