About Sam Buxton

I am an Advisor Consultant for Highland Capital Brokerage, assisting forward-thinking advisors enhance their practice by de-risking client portfolios and increasing revenue. With over seven years of experience as an advisor, financial analyst, and wholesaler, I work as your business partner, helping increase your practice’s efficiency from case design to your business process. I started in the financial services industry as a financial advisor for Northwestern Mutual, and later worked as a wholesaler selling variable annuities for Jackson National Life. After Jackson, I moved back into personal production for the bank channel before joining Highland in 2019. I graduated from Marshall University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Corporate Risk Management, as well as earning my MBA. To pay for my tuition while in graduate school, I worked as a financial analyst for the Center for Business and Economic Research which abled me to fully fund my own schooling. That coupled with endless summers working construction back home, and earning a graduate assistant position at the university. I currently hold my Series 6 and Series 63, as well as my life and health. I am extremely family-oriented. A third-generation financial services professional, I love to talk shop with my father and grandfather whenever possible. I am a die-hard New York Giants fan and an avid traveler, and love to coach my niece's youth basketball team. I also enjoys spending time on the lake—whether fishing, wakeboarding, tubing, or canoeing—and am always ready for a game of pick-up basketball when the opportunity presents itself. Lets talk!
