About Sam Cammarata

My career in the field of human capital has evolved primarily within the ICT industry over the past 10 years in various disciplines of the HR field which include: succession planning, business partnering, talent development, change management, organisation development, learning & development and psychometric assessments. The culmination of the experience and exposure over the last few years has led me to the role I currently fulfil which is overseeing the Organisational Development and Psychometric Assessment function for the Telkom Group. This challenging and exciting portfolio allows me to work across the organisation on strategic projects which involves a diverse group of stakeholders from the board, group exco, business units, subsidiaries, specialistations and functions. My career began as a learning & development consultant where after I completed my internship with Telkom having completed my Masters Degree in Industrial Psychology, at the University of Pretoria. My final dissertation focused on identifying generational differences in female leaders which propelled me into my first role which was as the lead on the first female leadership development programme within Telkom, now in its fourth iteration. This enabled me to fulfil my passion in assisting employees to maximise their efficiency by understanding their strengths and development areas from a psychological, emotional and behavioural perspective. As a registered practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), my zest for continuous development combined with an understanding that each individual is unique, has driven the enhancement of my degree in the field of psychology and leadership. These enriching courses in counselling, coaching and leadership have highlighted my understanding of employees holistically and bolstered diverse approaches to unlock their passion and potential.
