About Sam Dixon

I am a practitioner and lover of the art of software engineering with a drive to ensure that others may find success and satisfaction in the area as well. As such, I am particularly drawn to development of tools which others use to create software or other digital experiences. I am known for performing exceptional code reviews which result in consistently readable and reliable code being checked in while not being confrontational. Of the many talks I’ve given, my talk on how to approach reviewing code is one of my favorites still. It was an engaging session that provided immediately applicable knowledge. It also was a full team activity where many different perspectives came out. When working with customers, I am known for my drive to identify opportunities for excellence in tooling. By accurately pinpointing why a request is being made from a customer to combat the x y problem, I am able to facilitate more productive discussion between teams.
