About Sam Edgin

I am a driven, self-motivated individual with a passion for bringing people together. As the bar manager at The Native, I have decreased monthly comps from 30% to under 3% in one year and increased profit by about 55% in one year. I communicate openly and clearly with the staff to ensure daily goals and objectives are met. I also manage our social media platforms and have grown our followers over 300% since I started, and I design all of our print/digital marketing items to keep our brand image consistent. As the Event Coordinator, not only am I responsible for curating 25-35 events each month, but I pride myself on organizing memorable events such as weekly DJ residencies, birthday parties, movie bingo, trivia nights, and fundraising for organizations like local animal shelters, LGBTQ rights groups, and Breast Cancer awareness. With my time spent at The Native, I have helped harness a warm environment for our staff and community to make memorable experiences in a welcoming space. Thanks to my time spent at Skokie Valley Beverage, I was able to cut my teeth in a sales position. There, I became the top on-premise sales rep for the Chicago team, as well as the number one Midwest on-premise sales rep for Blake’s Hard Cider, Schlafly, and Old Style Beer in just over 1 year. I love talking about (and selling) items that I am excited about. I developed a great rapport with my accounts because I only sold them the products I thought would be best for their business, and I gained a lot of trust and respect because of this. In addition to my excellent managerial skills and ability to delegate work and oversee groups, I also have confident and effective communication and social skills online and in-person. I love to work in groups but am also a self-starter and can keep myself busy and motivated without much direction. I fair well in fast-paced environments and high stress situations, and I look forward to challenges. I have the ability to multitask and persevere to see all projects through to completion. Additionally, I am well-organized and fluent in Photoshop, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
