About Sam Fletcher

I am a confident, versatile and ambitious Test Engineer. Those who know me describe me as a driven and energetic individual with a hunger for challenge, and over the course of my degree I have successfully overcome countless obstacles including adapting to education in a pandemic, juggling a high workload with responsibilities and overcoming personal struggles. My University of Sheffield experience allowed me to work to a high standard independently whilst also collaborating in team projects which I thoroughly enjoyed as I flourish when adapting to the creativity of those around me. My favourite part of my degree was working with specialised software such as ANSYS, CFX and Fusion360, as it involved the computational application of the skills I have learnt in recent years. Outside of degree work I extended my versatility with involvement in extracurricular activities. These included attending ‘Python Programming’ courses, playing for the ‘Biomedical Engineering Football Team’ and showcasing my organisational abilities as the social secretary of ‘The University of Sheffield Snowboarding Society’. With a Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering in my back-pocket, I feel prepared and eager to approach future work. I am extremely passionate about public wellbeing, particularly within the area of healthcare. During the Covid 19 pandemic I volunteered as a vaccinator demonstrating my ability to thrive when learning new skills quickly and working in high pressure, foreign environments. Interacting with a variety of new people on a daily basis promoted me to advance my pre-existing social and communication skills, whilst displaying a professional and knowledgeable demeanour. In September of 2021, I was presented with an award in community contribution for my volunteer work. I have often pondered over the quote: “The path to success and the path to failure are almost exactly the same”, wondering how I would know which route would lead me to the lifestyle I desire. After many years of questioning, I have decided the best way to get there is to exploit my ambition and construct my own path… I now seek out the next step in my journey- I urge you to let our paths integrate and, I guarantee, you will gain a reliable, innovated and quality driven employee.
