About Sam Gervase

My career has spanned corporate finance, business development, non-profit leadership, construction management, and, most recently, local politics. Together, these experiences have broadened my perspective, strengthened my skill set, and reinforced my dedication to meaningful work. I started my career at General Electric building a strong foundation in financial analysis and corporate strategy, specifically focused on the healthcare sector. Wanting to get closer to patient care, I joined the business development leadership team for Profile by Sanford, an organization on a mission to disrupt chronic disease management.After COVID, I wanted to have a more local impact on my community. I spent two years working non-profit leadership as the Program Director for It's Time Texas's largest initiative, Community Challenge. Most recently, I co-founded StayTinyTX, where we leverage tiny homes to make homeownership more accessible. Leveraging my diverse experience and passion for affordable housing, I somehow stumbled into local politics. I currently work for Austin Council Member José Velásquez serving District 3 residents, primarily focused on affordable housing and land use policy.
