About Sam Hafeli

I am a mental health therapist. I love providing effective and compassionate therapy to my clients. I support people with a wide range of concerns including family and relationship concerns, stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and gender and sexual identity. I have training and experience in several therapy models including Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Response Based Therapy, and Mindfulness Counselling. I am certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I have training and experience working with individual adults, children, teens, and families. Through my career I have been fortunate to work with a diverse population, including people in crisis (The Distress Centre), people with mental health disorders and their family (CMHA), people of all genders in the sex industry (Shift), people living with chronic pain (Mosaic PCN), and people who have experienced complex trauma (Outpatient Mental Health - AHS). I currently work as a generalist therapist working with adults with moderate to severe mental health concerns. I am drawn to working with those whose voices have not always been heard, and supporting people with the goals they make for themselves. I come to therapy with authenticity, compassion, and respectful curiosity. In my personal life I am an avid science fiction reader, a cyclist, and a gardener. I am very passionate about growing food for my family. I identify strongly with my Metis heritage. I have a background in grassroots activism and consensus based decision making.
