About Sam Hiller

Sam began his career in the music industry when he landed an internship at KMBY, an alternative format radio station in Monterey, CA. There he absorbed as much as he could about the inner workings of radio & music curation, and less than a year into the internship, he was hired on as an on-air show host and assistant music director. In this role, Sam lent his ear for new music to the station's programming, helping to craft its evolving sound and identity. After college Sam moved to Los Angeles in the hopes of getting his own slice of what LA's rapidly growing electronic music scene had to offer. Sam began working under the tutelage of iconic radio DJ Swedish Egil (KROQ, MARSfm, Groove Radio.) During this time Sam became a member of DJ trio PeaceTreaty. The group signed to Steve Aoki's Dim Mak Records, giving Sam the opportunity to perform for thousands all over the world. In 2011 Sam left PeaceTreaty to pursue a career in artist management, and took his first job at Technique Management. Sam quickly began to absorb everything the profession entailed & required, and helped to expand the agency's roster, signing and developing former electro duos Cold Blank and LAZRtag, bass music/comic character vocalist Chris James, and EDM scratch master MAKJ. Then in 2014, Sam made his first company leap, and accepted a position at Complete Control Management, a part of the Control Music Group. There as an artist manager and A&R assistant, Sam worked with and helped sign artists including Le Youth, Kid Sister, Stooki Sound, and Viceroy. During his time at CCM, Sam began co-managing artists Moon Boots & Tensnake with Nerve Artist Management. Sam eventually accepted an offer from co-founder Ryan Hambsch to join Nerve full-time. The pair continued to manage Tensnake and Moon Boots together, and Sam started to work on other Nerve clients Big Black Delta, The Blessed Madonna, Daniel Avery, and more. Sam quickly became an integral part of Nerve's Los Angeles operation, helping the company to sign and develop artists including Ora The Molecule, DJ Holographic, Shouse, and more. In 2022, Sam undertook a part-time role in live event production when he landed a part-time role in talent buying and artist relations for the award-winning live event production company JJLA. There he helped to produce their annual 3-day Pride festival OUTLOUD in West Hollywood. The relationship blossomed, and in September 2022 Sam completed this major career pivot and accepted a full time senior roll as JJLA & OUTLOUD's Head of Talent Buying and Artist Relations.
