About Sam Hinson

I am currently taking a gap year after my graduation from Auburn University to gain work experience as I am applying to law school this fall. I am interested in constitutional law, federal courts, and the Supreme Court specifically. As a Political Science major at Auburn I took four Constitutional Law courses with Dr. Steven Brown. My time in his class solidified my interest in the law and my desire to work in pursuit of the expansions of American civil rights, voting rights, and reproductive freedom. I gained experience working as a team in multiple instances including representing my college in our campus student government association and as a legal team in my constitutional law moot court cases in which we prepared rigorously researched arguments before questioning by fellow students portraying the justices of the U.S. Supreme Court. My work experience has been centered on working in environments in which I was extremely passionate about what I did. When offered to work for my childhood football team, I could not pass up the opportunity. In that athletic department I learned valuable skills for reaching deadlines and maintaining efficient distribution of gear and running practices with coaches. As an oyster farmer and shucker for 9 summers I have learned the inner workings of running a business and maintaining inventory and insuring efficient and reliable service to customers. It has been an experience I will never forget. I can’t wait to take the skills I have learned in my work and education to further my eventual legal career. War Eagle!
