An experienced executive with proven large organization leadership and complex commercial and military operations expertise. Even in the Navy's bureaucratic hierarchy, I became an entrepreneurial turnaround leader who can take your new or failing project or organization from ink/ashes to action and genuine viability. I'm a quick study with an effective and personable communications style that fosters inclusivity, mutual respect, and diversity of thought and expression. I inspire commitment by every individual to the organizational effort. Through a career as a Navy Officer and civilian, I developed and demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, maritime operations, fiscal and human resource management, training and adult learning, leadership development, talent management, labor relations, large workforce planning, defense operational test and evaluation, project management, coaching, as well as leadership development & training. I am a confident and engaging public speaker. Experience includes being start-up Account General Manager for Liberty Source PBC, taking the company from 2 to 95 employees and a $multi-million, multi-year service agreement with Aol; working as a systems and operational test engineer; mariner skills training and education. I served as commanding officer (yes, the captain)/chief executive officer in USS RAVEN (MHC 61), USS ASHLAND (LSD 48), USS BATAAN (LHD 5), and Tactical Training Group Atlantic. I've also demonstrated effective leadership in the community and non-profit arena on Boards of Directors for the Admiral Nimitz Foundation which supports the National Museum of the Pacific War, VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads, Surface Navy Association (Chapter and National level), and leadership team of Restoration Church at Landstown in Virginia Beach, VA.
