About Sam Kekuewa
I study coastal seawater chemistry in context of climate change and land use change with an emphasis on nearshore biogeochemical interactions. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where I work with coral core geochemistry data to explore the link of climate and land use change events on western Maui to coral reef health and function. I received my PhD in Chemical Oceanography from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 2024, where my research focused on understanding the current day seawater carbonate chemistry variability in nearshore ecosystems.
