About Sam Levieux
I am a third-year student at the French geophysical engineering school EOST (Ecole et Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre), expecting to graduate in December 2013 after the required 6-month internship. I am currently doing that one in New Caledonia. I work as a geophysicist for ERT2.5D surveys for mineral exploration. I am leading some surveys, so I am supervising the team working on the field, processing data, doing the interpretation and presenting the conclusions to the clients. I have had a 3-month internship in the Australian firm ExploreGeo last summer. Under the supervision of Kim Frankcombe who is a consulting geophysicist working for the mineral exploration industry, I acquired the first keys to understand the processing and interpretation of magnetic and gamma spectrometry data in particular. I really enjoy dealing with magnetic data rather than electric one because I prefer the physics behind magnetic measurements. I am familiar with Geosoft Oasis Montaj, Surpac, Res2Dinv and several Golden software like Surfer11 and Didger4 or MapInfo. My energy and commitment at work were appreciated.
