At Thomson Reuters as a Software Engineer Technical Lead, my focus is on technical leadership of their tax research platform. With a robust background in application development, application architecture and recent hands-on Generative AI experience, I am committed to driving innovation and efficiency. Our team consistently delivers advanced Tax & Accounting content and provides AI assisted research in our vast knowledge base that helps transform how professionals access and utilize Tax & Accounting information. As both a Lead Software Engineer and the acting Principal Software Engineer, I juggle multiple responsibilities across various work streams, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the platform's dynamics. Leading a large development team, I prioritize consistency, quality, repeatability, and automation across all scrum teams. I achieve this through mentoring, creating and teaching well-defined designs, spearheading CI/CD improvements, championing testing efforts, optimizing performance, promoting secure data practices, advocating for secure code, promoting user-centric design (including accessibility), continuous learning and a long-term technical vision. These efforts extend beyond my role as a development lead for one of our scrum teams and are implemented at a cross-platform level. My expertise in Spring, Spring Boot, and RAG, honed over recent years, complements my role in developing web-based applications that are both dynamic and user-centric. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, we have achieved significant improvements in application performance and user experience.
