About Sam Oneill

I first developed an interest for Computer Science when I attended a short two-week summer program in DCU when I was 13, learning about Computing and Engineering. This was my first exposure to programming and the way computers worked and talked to each other, and from then my interest never went away. During my Transition Year in secondary school, I found myself with a lot more time to think about what direction I wanted to take my career. I remembered the course I did in DCU, and decided to look deeper into the world of programming. I immersed myself in anything I could find on the internet, such as beginner programming courses on Codecademy. The more exposure I had, the more I knew that I wanted to learn more and I was sure that I wanted to do something related to computers. With this goal in mind, I worked hard in my Leaving Cert to get into a general Computer Science course in UCD. I learned a tremendous amount during my time in the college and had a blast with the experience as a whole. Now that I am working in the industry, my thirst for learning and knowledge has only become greater. I am always striving to become the best I can be in whatever role I find myself in, and most importantly to enjoy the journey with those around me!
