About Sam Pogue

First and foremost, I am a coach. I guide those around me to their success. Starting out as a personal trainer and working with various ages and skillsets, I developed a lens of perspective that allows me to relate and connect with people quickly and effectively. This skill has led me to build the largest and most extensive network of fitness influencers, educators, and coaches in the industry. I worked as a membership sales representative after graduating from the University of Portland in 2008. Then I moved to Austin, TX, where I found myself as the very first member of the Onnit Gym (Joe Rogan’s supplement company) in 2014, later coming on board to work as employee number 42. For 4 years I oversaw operations of the fitness certifications, coordinated 3-5 national events a month, and taught over 100 workshops and certifications. I also ventured into the business development side of things, bringing in partnerships with EXOS, Equinox, Gold’s Gym, and UCLA. During this time I also had the great opportunity to work with Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Jake Arrieta as his offseason strength coach. In 2019, I moved to Boulder, Colorado to accept a position at TrueCoach as the Vice President of Brand as employee number 9, where I oversaw and built the content and brand strategy. In our first year, we grew 82%, which earned us a 9x valuation on our acquisition. Rolling into 2020 and a global pandemic, we were able to hit 100% of 2019 revenue by June of 2020. After the acquisition, it provided me the opportunity to step into the world of entrepreneurship. I launched the Be Less Un-Fit program, a practical fitness program for everyday, real-life adults. Additionally, I have brought a team together to launch The Choice Point App, we are gamifying mindfulness to enact behavior change. My passion lies in helping others transform their lives for the better, whatever that might look like. I live in Boulder, CO and when I’m not working, I’m one of those down-to-try-anything type of people. I’m all about new experiences, from bungee jumping to cooking classes. If you’re in, I’m in.
