About Sam Rystrom

Experienced Senior-level Software Engineer and Engineering leader. Fascinated by the intersection of technology and health, I’ve dedicated my career to creating mobile solutions that empower individuals to take charge of their well-being. In my current role at Emercent Technologies LLC, I lead a team dedicated to developing secure and scalable mobile applications for the healthcare and medical device industry. By leveraging agile methodologies and enforcing robust coding standards, we consistently deliver high-value solutions for our clients. Notably, this includes rebuilding an existing iOS and Android app with over downloads and MAU using Flutter and Firebase. Before this role, I founded One Deep Breath, an app focused on reducing stress through science-based breathing exercises. As the sole engineer responsible for delivering a 4.9-star experience to over users and subscribers, I gained a deep understanding of the entire mobile app creation process and developed a strong expertise in Flutter. One Deep Breath was acquired in August of 2023. In my free time, I enjoy working with other mobile development frameworks and technologies, particularly React Native and Swift.
