About Sam Saarsteiner

I am a solicitor and CEDR-accredited Mediator. I am also a qualified CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional / EU) practitioner in the Data Privacy and Cyber Security space. I act for and advise my clients in a range of forms of dispute resolution, from court to arbitration, mediation and negotiated settlements. I handle contract and shareholder disputes, corporate insolvencies, construction disputes, data privacy, cybersecurity, fraud, alternative dispute resolution, professional negligence and general litigation. I advise clients on complex ADR processes, data privacy and cybersecurity matters as well as pre-litigation risk mitigation across a range of issues. I have achieved status as a Certified Information Privacy Professional for Europe (CIPP/e) from the IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals). My corporate insolvency work has included acting in a large number of examinerships and liquidations (for petitioner and for liquidator). In particular I led the legal team that achieved the longest ever disqualification of a director in Irish corporate history, arising from a large scale systematic VAT fraud scheme. I aim to develop a deep understanding of my clients' business or background so as to unlock the key drivers of a successful outcome. I place a strong importance on ensuring that my clients understand the case or process and that their own time investment is managed efficiently. I come from a small family company background so have grown up with a keen awareness of what it takes to successful build a business from scratch and deal with the challenges that any growing business faces. I particularly enjoy being able to present novel options to clients – and particularly when in doing so I can assist mitigating the stress of a contentious situation.
