About Sam Trowbridge

After completing a masters in AI (Artificial Intelligence) my new focus is primarily Robotics and machine learning. During this degree I became very efficient with the python language and also familiar with R. I really enjoyed the application of AI to machines e.g. EKF (Extended Kalman Filter) SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) to the Cozmo robot. Therefore my dissertation consisted of:"Spiking Neural Network Neurobiological SLAM in Autonomous Racing" the report and code of which can be found here: https://github.com/sammytrow/SNN-NeuroSLAM.git I am a well travelled and a well rounded individual, prior to completing my masters I was living abroad in Japan teaching English and learning Japanese for two years. This was during the pandemic which made the experience far more challenging than expected, nevertheless it was a great experience with many learning opportunities. However taking time away from programming resulted in a lack of confidence in my abilities therefore a masters seemed appropriate. This has dramatically boosted my confidence and my skills even more so, it was a very difficult challenge but great results were achieved. As ex Web Developer I am extremely experienced in HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL and JavaScript, I have also worked with and am confident in Ajax, React, and Typescript. Obviously I am also aware of google search engine requirements and have often developed animations when required in both adobe animations and HTML 5. My Undergraduate degree helped me discover the many opportunities in the IT industry and also provided opportunity to work with other codes such ass C#, C++, Java, Python, matlab and oracle database.
