About Sam van Tighem

For the last four years I have been working as a compensation analyst. With extensive experience in the mining and cannabis industry, I've also had the opportunity to do research into compensation for BioTech, MedTech, Technology, Oil and Gas, energy and Clean Technology industries. For the past three years, I have been responsible for researching and writing the industry reports on Board and Executive Compensation on behalf of The Bedford Group across all aforementioned industries. I am extremely knowledgeable in aspects of executive compensation, creating long-term and short-term incentive plans, shareholder requirements, termination and change of control agreements, and equity vehicles. I previously held my Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation, working as a Safety Analyst in the oil & energy industry. In my time with MEG Energy I became well-versed in Emergency Response Preparedness and Plan Development, Internal and External Auditing, and Training. In 2017 I planned and executed a full scale emergency response drill for the company in accordance with AER D71. I have also been in the Incident Command and Emergency Operations Centre in several different incidents and assisted in a site-wide evacuation of over 900 people.I have excellent written and oral communication skills and have written many different reports over the years to suit a variety of needs. I am a very quick learner who is always ready to fearlessly tackle new challenges. I work well in a team and also excel on my own. I am very proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and have also developed computerized forms with Adobe. I have a Bachelor of Arts (BA) focused in French Studies from Athabasca University.I hope to continue working towards my CPP in the near future.
