About Sam Wetherell
I have been a history professor at the University of York in the UK for the last three years. Before that I taught at Columbia University and received a PhD in History from the University of California, Berkeley. I am interested in the ways that urban space shape the way we think about politics and the economy in modern societies, focussing particularly in Britain but also in the United States. This is the subject of my forthcoming book,'Foundations: How the Built Environment Made Twentieth-Century Britain' which will be published in September 2020 with Princeton University Press. I am also interested in and have written about the history of tax havens, borders and the "creative economy." I currently divide my time between Washington and Britain.
