About Samaneh Ghazanfarpour

I began my research career by focusing on the fabrication and characterization of various generations of organic and inorganic solar cells. As a Research Assistant, I specialized in characterizing polymer and perovskite solar cells using advanced optical analysis techniques. At the University at Albany, I transitioned into optics and spectroscopy, collaborating on the design and construction of a digital holographic microscope. During this time, I also developed proficiency in ZEMAX for optical system modeling and design. Currently, my research combines Raman spectroscopy with machine learning to address challenges in cancer diagnostics and substance abuse detection. I utilize multivariate analysis methods such as SVD and PCA, alongside machine learning algorithms, to analyze high-dimensional spectral data. Known for my ability to work under pressure, I consistently meet deadlines and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve successful project outcomes while maintaining high standards. This interdisciplinary journey has shaped me into a versatile researcher at the intersection of experimental optics, spectroscopy, and computational analysis.
