About Samantha Bui

I am a passionate, driven Computer Science and Psychology undergraduate with a passion in software development, cybersecurity, and aviation. Currently, I'm pursuing my private pilot's license and working on personal projects that challenge the intersection of software development and psychology, including programming personality tests to better understand human traits and behavior. With a strong foundation in technology and human psychology, my vision is to intersect problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills to develop solutions and work collaboratively in teams. As a Computer Science student, I’ve developed programs using C#.NET Maui, Python Flask, Java, C++, C, CSS, HTML, SQL. My projects include: developing personality tests based on psychological frameworks including Myers-Briggs 16 Personalities, Five Factor Model, Enneagram, HEXACO. By utilizing data structures and algorithms, I ensure accuracy as and efficiency tailored to nuances of every test, combining technical expertise with psychological insight to build data-driven solutions to output valuable insights into human traits and behavior. Currently working on full stack eCommerce and financial application. In the Cybersecurity field, I've developed extensive knowledge of regulatory standards, especially in HIPAA & NIST SP 800-53. I specialize in implementing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure secure services for the university. My work includes overseeing the implementation of IT systems, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements. I conduct security risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and assess risk levels as well as develop policies and procedures that adhere to HIPAA standards and NIST SP 800-53 control objectives to ensure efficient implementation of compliance requirements. Whether I’m developing programs, flying planes, playing guitar, or traveling and immersing myself into cultures around the world, I am committed to continuous personal and professional growth.
