About Samantha Shellard

Naturally curious I am always looking to broaden and to continuously build my career within Conservation. I am self-driven. A motivated person who thrives on a challenge recognising the need for life long learning. I am passionate about the preservation of our heritage and look for opportunities to share my knowledge and experience with the wider Australian community. I am a senior paper conservator with over 25 years of experience working on diverse collections that includes works of art on paper (maps, engravings, lithographs, silk screen prints, watercolour paintings) ranging from historic to large installations of contemporary art. I manage concurrent exhibition projects, working across collections and disciplines, working collaboratively with curators, academics and makers, both in and out of the museum environment. I am also a diligent advocate for neurodiversity. In Australia we still have a long way to go to ensure everyone receives the support they need to thrive. I am keen to raise awareness of the incredible strengths of neurodivergent colleagues have. And finding more ways to make recruitment processes more inclusive.
