About Samantha Ward

My interest in event production and media has been a constant thread throughout my life. My journey began in high school, exploring design and management in theater, film, and print through extracurriculars. I was eager even then to pursue a creative career, as well as attend a university that connected with my academic nature. The University of Texas at Austin pulled me in instantly, giving me a full ride with the Impact Scholarship, a prestigious award designed to support students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, leadership qualities, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. My internal commitment to growing as an individual made my four years at UT Austin incredibly fruitful, and multifaceted to say the least. In addition to my BS in Radio-Television-Film, I received minors in Business and Architectural Studies to enhance my focus in production design. I also spent 3 years learning the Czech language due to my passion for Eastern European film and later studied the language at Charles University. In addition to my schoolwork, I explored various creative fields, from camera operation at Longhorn football games, working as a PA and in credentials for the CMT Awards to even working as a studio assistant and media manager for a local artist. Despite these diverse experiences, I always find myself drawn back to lighting design and the live event industry in general. My initial foray into this world was in high school theatre, working plays and musicals with limited rigs and easy operating systems, really learning to be creative with a limit. Years later, I rediscovered my passion with Limitless Lights and Sound, and the opportunities truly seem limitless now. I've immersed myself in learning the intricacies of programming, networking within the industry, and collaborating with top-tier companies. I am always looking to grow – as a designer, as a leader on-site, and as a lifelong learner. My goals are to advance further into lighting and production management, both for Limitless Lights and Sound and for my personal development. I believe in the power of hard work, vision, and continuous learning to push the boundaries of what's possible in event production.
