About Samara Ohm

My education and experience in the field of nutrition and dietetics has ranged from planting organic gardens with children to counselling patients with chronic disease in a clinical setting. I love the the diversity of the dietetic profession and believe that an effective approach respects the context in which consultation and care is being provided while honouring the individual patient and their personal story. Nutrition and healthy eating doesn't have to be fancy and should be inclusive - without the dichotomization of good, bad, healthy or unhealthy. I recently obtained a MSc in Applied Human Nutrition and am registered with the College of Dietitians of BC. My interests include behaviour change, anti-diet approaches to nutrition, nutrition for cardiovascular health, and women's health. Finally, as a pilates instructor I am an advocate for movement and encouraging gentle exercise to build strength, confidence and enhance mobility.
