About Samarth Patel

Passionate about merging technology with healthcare to drive innovation, I am a senior undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering at Rowan University. During my time at Rowan University, I took ownership of my professional development. For example, with a solid foundation in biomedical engineering principles, I have actively contributed to cutting-edge research projects that bridge the gap between technology and healthcare. Previous projects of mine include engineering novel synthetic receptors for biomaterials and cancer therapies and developing a micro-scale mechanical testing method for a novel degradable medical device. Additionally, I spent a summer interning in the Medical and Scientific Affairs Department at Roche Diagnostics, where I adapted my engineering mindset to a new area and successfully completed a summer-long project. My project at Roche Diagnostics involved analyzing current literature to identify evidence gaps and creating a plan to overcome these limitations to facilitate the uptake of a new diagnostic method. These experiences have taught me various technical and interpersonal skills that I plan on using when I graduate from Rowan University in May 2024 in a full-time position.
