About Sameera Mushini

I am an engineer and have a post graduate diploma in rural management. I started my career as a Technology Consultant in Hewlett Packard and switched gears to pursue my passion in sustainability. I explored solutions to rural poverty in India through women led community based organisations. Some of my most satisfying projects were strengthening the rural economy by training microentrepreneurs and linking tribal & rural artisans to e-commerce platforms to strengthen their market linkages. I worked with government think tank on policy and found the role of technology and the challenges in the last mile delivery fascinating. My areas of interest include renewable energy opportunities to support microentrepreneurs, providing reliable market linkages to sustainable eco-friendly artisan products and opportunities to build the local economy. In Ireland, I worked as a Sustainability Auditor with the Business in the Community to help Irish businesses integrate sustainability into their business strategy and to drive continuous improvement before moving to AIB as an ESG Expert in the Internal Audit team. I am an advocate of conscious consumerism and try to embed it into my life choices. I love to hike and cycle and am on a constant lookout to find public transport options to travel around Ireland.
