About Sami Mrad

With over 15 years of experience in procurement at both local and European levels, I bring a strategic and efficient approach to optimizing procurement operations, driving digital transformation, and delivering sustainable value. Holding an engineering degree and a Master in Purchasing (MAI), I began my career managing procurement in France before progressing to a European leadership role. I’ve led sourcing initiatives for raw materials, energy, production services, CAPEX, and technical goods across multiple countries, managing budgets up to €100M and leading teams of up to 20 professionals in multicultural environments. My experience has been built around four core pillars of the procurement function : Strategic Sourcing & Cost Optimization • Defined and executed sourcing strategies for direct and indirect spend • Managed complex negotiations and contract management, achieving savings between 5% and 35%, depending on portfolio maturity • Developed a category management approach to secure continuity of supply, optimize TCO, improve quality, and drive value creation • Implemented SRM practices, including supplier qualification, evaluation, and regular performance reviews Leadership & Organizational Development • Successfully restructured and globalized procurement teams across France, Germany, Spain, and Portugal, ensuring strategic alignment and process consistency • Positioned procurement as a strategic business partner through close collaboration with technical, production, and finance departments • Led and coached multicultural teams, promoting a culture of accountability, development, and high performance Digital Procurement & Systems Integration • Led the global deployment of the full SAP Ariba suite, integrated with SAP ECC (upstream and downstream modules) • Currently managing the SAP Ariba – S/4HANA integration project to enhance agility, automation, and compliance • Led procurement digitalization initiatives, including automation, reporting, and KPI development Processes & Continuous Improvement • Designed and implemented standardized procurement processes, workflows, and master data governance • Applied continuous improvement and Lean principles to enhance procurement efficiency • Improved compliance, transparency, and agility through enhanced visibility and reporting systems I am results-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about transforming procurement into a driver of strategic value.
