I'm Sami Parvez, an independent journalist, political commentator, and storyteller with a passion for uncovering the truth and sharing compelling narratives. I have a Certificate in Writing from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Science from University of Balochistan, which have given me a strong foundation for my work. I've had the chance to contribute to various publications over the years. At The Vocal Media, I focused on complex and sensitive issues related to Balochistan, digging deep into critical topics like enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings. I even built a database of over case studies to support my investigative journalism and advocacy work. While freelancing for Moose Jaw Today, I wrote engaging stories and conducted interviews with a diverse range of people, always aiming to uphold the publication's high standards. My time at The Balochistan Point was spent producing well-researched articles, conducting investigative journalism, and translating stories from Balochi and Urdu into English to reach a wider audience. I also helped the Editor-in-Chief by editing and enhancing stories, ensuring everything was top-notch and accurate. I've been active in my community too. As Vice President of the Westview Heights Community Association in Saskatoon, I worked on various projects to improve our neighborhood. I've also served as a Deputy Returning Officer for Elections Ontario, Elections Canada, and Elections Saskatchewan, ensuring the integrity of the voting process. Currently, I host the 'Sami Parvez Show' and write on Substack, where I discuss important issues and interview a wide range of individuals. I'm looking for new opportunities to use my skills and experience in journalism, political commentary, and storytelling.
