About Samiya Hamid

I’m an aspiring human rights lawyer with a full-ride scholarship to study Social Sciences at King’s College London, driven by a strong interest in policy reform, race, and wider societal issues. My goal is to use law and policy to challenge social inequality and create meaningful, lasting change, while also combining my degree with ab initio Arabic. Alongside my academic focus, I’ve led and organised high-impact initiatives, including collaborating with the Mayor’s Fund for London and Access Aspiration to deliver influential networking events that strengthened my project management and stakeholder engagement skills. I’ve been recognised for my analytical and strategic thinking as a top 12% finalist out of applicants in Northeastern University’s Law essay competition, and through earning a 30% Immerse Education scholarship to a Cambridge residential programme on the morality of law. Mentorship from political lobbyists and professionals at Morgan Stanley and Dentons Global Advisors has further shaped my understanding of advisory and policy work. I’m motivated, curious, and committed to learning from diverse perspectives, and I’m keen to connect with individuals and organisations in law, policy reform, and human rights who want to collaborate and drive real global change.
