About Samuel Burns

I am a duly-accredited Exercise Physiologist and Exercise Scientist (AEP, AES), Exercise & Sport Science Australia member (ESSAM) and Victorian Allied Health Practitioner Association (VAHPA) member and prospective delegate. I am a registered NDIS provider, an accredited High Performance Coach (AFL Victoria), an accredited Cricket Coach (Cricket Australia), and accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach (ASCA). I have a range of experience in the public and private health sectors (providing both inpatient and outpatient healthcare), community health, private practice/business management, and performance/strength and conditioning coaching. I am most passionate about chronic disease management, however, with a particular interest in managing 'invisible illnesses', including but not limited to: chronic fatigue, chronic pain, all aspects of trauma and mental health. Providing clinical education to stakeholders, colleagues, consumers, and students is another passion of mine. Whilst exercise prescription and delivery is my area of expertise, I like to think that I practice in a holistic, client-centred and trauma-informed way - where providing adapted education and implementing behavioural change strategies through various counselling techniques is just as, if not more, important as the exercise. I am always striving for new learning opportunities to consolidate and enhance my skillset and hope to pursue future studies in Psychology.
