About Samuel Clark

Born in Multnomah County, and raised in Astoria, Oregon, my journey reflects the values of the Pacific Northwest. After graduating from Astoria Senior High School, I joined the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Portland, where I pursued a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. During my junior year, fate introduced me to my future wife, and together, we embarked on a journey that would take us to the corners of the world. In 2013, we arrived in Dover, Delaware, where our first son, Henry, would be born a few years later. Shortly thereafter, we were reassigned to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, where I pursued dual Master's programs and witnessed Henry's first steps. In the winter of 2018, our second son, Joseph was born. Our Air Force journey continued to Grand Forks, North Dakota, and a six-month Middle East deployment, where I witnessed Joe's first steps over FaceTime-emphasizing the delicate balance between professional duties and family life. In the summer of 2021, we relocated to Germany, where I spent half of my time away for work-leaving my family to forge a life for themselves in a new country, community, and culture. The following year brought, another six-month deployment to the Middle East, which underscored the crucial role of family support during time spent apart and served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices we make in service. In the spring, we packed our belongings once again, returning to Washington—close to our roots and surrounded by the warmth of friends and family. I am grateful for my family's unwavering support and continual resilience. These experiences have shaped me into a leader who values resilience, teamwork, and a strong support system. I am eager to contribute to this vibrant community, and I look forward to connecting and sharing insights.
