About Samuel Crider

I teach undergraduate classes in digital compositing, animation, and the history, practice, and production of visual effects in the VFX industry. In my academic work I study topics such as how monsters are used in horror and science fiction as a way of exploring how Western culture reacts to and tries to control things it fears and doesn’t understand. My other research interests include fandom studies and alternative narrative structures. I also do recording, sound design, and editing for the audio theatre podcast Continuous Dream. https://continuousdream.com In my work in the video game industry, I have focused on visual effects for game cinematics.
