My experiences begin with work as a blacksmith for a local shop before college. While there I learned both a good work ethic and an attention to detail. During college I studied genetics and went on to graduate with a bachelors degree with an emphasis in a field that had long held an interest for me: Microbial Genetics. After college I found that career opportunities for a bachelors alone in that field were not especially good, so I went to work for Valspar (now Sherwin Williams) in the powder coatings lab, where I was able to participate in many projects to improve the protective coatings industry. After leaving Valspar for a short stint at IFS coatings, I started work as an apprentice electrician. The career change has been very pronounced, but has given me some valuable insights nonetheless. Now I am working with family at a printing and vinyl wrap company called Streamline Print and Design.
