About Samuel Fernando

I currently work as an AI Engineer and Data Scientist in the Asset Management division at BTG Pactual, the largest investment bank in Latin America, focusing on GenAI and Machine Learning solutions. In practice, I am a cross-developer who designs, implements, and deploys technology products—whether an LLM or an XGBoost model—into our production infrastructure. I earned a Master’s degree in Complex Systems Modeling from the University of São Paulo, with an emphasis on Quantum Computing applied to quantum sensing. Additionally, I was a research fellow at the Federal University of ABC in the field of neuroscience, where I conducted research on computational models of biological neurons, resulting in an international publication. My previous experience includes roles at B3, IBM, and KTGroup Technologies, where I developed projects in Data Science, GenAI, NLP, and Deep Learning. I aim to apply data science and AI to solve complex challenges, driving efficiency, strategic transformation, and long-term societal impact. I am also an expert in Emerging Technologies, as well as a teacher, consultant, and strategist with a background in Human Sciences, particularly Psychoanalysis, History, and Philosophy.
