Between the business metrics of top line and bottom line, there are multiple activities to churn out an outcome which is either a product or service. In a manufacturing sector, success of the business is contributed by the technology, assets, capacity utilization, Efficiency, Quality, people, product development, marketing, accounts and finance. My career started in the project management and construction of an asset in Packaging industry specifically BOPP facility. In those formative years it was an experience to the targets of timely completion and quality of execution with learning of project co-ordination. As I moved on to the pharma industry consisting of oral dosage facility and API facility with all its compliance needs and approvals from international approval authorities, the quality of execution by the guidelines of compliances and principal standards of execution which brought in the learning of business need for conforming to the consumer safety, satisfaction, reliability, and productivity of the assets when it went on stream. The progression in career brought to the next level in the Organization in Nonwoven sector in hygiene and medical care segment Though a new to my experience in application and product, the fundamental beliefs and the skill sets in the factors of business of operations held ground to navigate this opportunity. Thus, it resulted in the building four assets within costs and timeline and integrating set of equipment relocated from elsewhere in Europe with internal resources. such a large capacity and technology is new in India and competent resources is scarce, but it is one of the best experiences of enlisting personnel and strategic initiatives to source people bore fruit in successfully utilizing the assets to the level of international benchmark of key performance indicators. It was satisfying experience to build cross functional teams, enable young engineers to see their potential and contribute to the objectives and targets of the organization. It’s a tough business with qualification of the processes by the clientele. The process to establish the practicing and verifiable system in manufacturing looked daunting in timelines and deliverables in quality. As a leader I took the front line to address the issue by forming functional teams. And I believed in the quote and practiced as said by Pioneer auto maker Henry Ford “Nothing is particularly hard if you break them into small jobs”
