About Samuel Mansfield

I graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph. My studies focused on solving complex environmental science problems with freshwater ecology and aquatic systems being the emphasis of third and forth year courses. Since 2015, I have worked for a variety of environmental organizations in both private and public sectors, which helped to broaden my knowledge of global environmental issues and align such issues with my interests and passions. I am a highly self-motivated, reliable, and passionate individual looking for opportunities to showcase my skills as an aspiring environmental scientist and conservationist. Since 2016, I have worked onboard a variety of research vessels conducting limnology and fish population surveys of the Great Lakes and its tributaries. This year I volunteered at sea for three months defending a UNESCO World Heritage Site from illegal Totoaba poaching in order to protect the world’s most endangered marine mammal, the Vaquita Porpoise. I am looking to pursue work focused on aquatic sciences (e.g. limnological surveys, fisheries management, consulting, habitat restoration and conservation) as I most enjoy working on water.
