Background
About Samuel Mugo
With over 17 years of academic leadership experience, I have a proven track record in strategic planning, curriculum development, and operational management. In my current role as Associate Dean of Development at MacEwan University, I have led the creation of in-demand academic programs, expanded experiential learning opportunities, and built strong industry partnerships to enhance student success and employability. My leadership approach centers on inclusivity and student engagement, with a focus on curriculum innovation and fostering high-impact collaborations both within the university and with external partners. I bring expertise in academic governance, resource management, and partnership building, and am passionate about driving research-informed, transformative educational programs that prioritize student outcomes. In recognition of sustained innovation in research, teaching and curriculum development leadership, I was the recipient of the MacEwan University Dr. Sherrill Brown Distinguished Research Award (DRA) in 2021 and MacEwan Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA) in 2020.
