Neuroscience M.Sc. McGill University: Douglas Mental Health University Institute Member of the Flores Lab: My Research: The human brain is fascinating! After birth, the brain is a much more dynamic and vulnerable organ than many make it seem. Long distance migration of neurons to the prefrontal cortex (my favourite brain region) is still occurring in the brains of adolescents. For this reason, I want to understand how experiences can impact this adolescent dopaminergic circuitry. Particularly, I am interested at how stress during adolescence can lead to changes in neuronal rewiring of this pathway and how this may behaviourally display itself in mice. Most importantly, my research revolves around addressing sex-differences in response to stress- something that has long been omitted in scientific research
