Background
About Samuel Schiavone
I am a researcher, programmer, and mathematician looking to combine mathematical abstraction with computational tools in order to discover, analyze, and elucidate. I am transitioning to industry, looking for opportunities in data science and software development.Currently I am a Research Scientist at MIT in computational arithmetic geometry. I like studying mathematical objects using computers, turning the abstract into the concrete. I write mathematical proofs, devise algorithms to compute mathematical objects, and implement these algorithms in code.I am a contributor to the L-functions and Modular Forms Database a database of arithmetic and geometric objects, mostly related to the Langlands Program. Together with collaborators, I have helped create the Belyi maps and Abstract groups (https://beta.lmfdb.org/Groups/Abstract/) sections of the LMFDB. I have also added data and front-end features in several other collections of objects.https://math.mit.edu/~sschiavo/https://github.com/SamSchiavone
