About Samuel Wagner

I am currently a master's student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), studying Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) with a specialization in circuits and embedded systems. I graduated from Oregon State University (OSU) in 2022 with an Honors B.S. in ECE. My areas of focus were integrated circuits and electric materials and devices. I have a strong background in mathematics and physics. I was a summer school math tutor for Portland Public Schools from 2017-19 and also tutored college physics at OSU for fall term of 2019 and winter term of 2020. I was part of the Sensors and Integrated Microelectronics (SIM) Lab research group, directed by Dr. Matthew Johnston, which does research on a wide variety of electrical engineering topics (from stretchable circuits to photosensors.) I developed a microcontroller based system that could identify radioactive isotopes by analyzing any given gamma ray spectrum. I also worked with Dr. John F. Conley Jr.'s research group as a research assistant at the Materials Synthesis and Characterization Facility (MaSC). I was part of a project that examined the effect of microwaves on the ALD process. I am also a beginner amateur landscape photographer with a small photographic portfolio. Most of my work focuses on the Cascade Mountains, but I do have a few photos of Eastern Oregon and the Coast. Other interests and hobbies of mine include history, astronomy, geology and geography.
